The City of La Crosse will begin a one-time leaf collection pass on Monday, April 13, 2026. Crews will start on the Northside and work their way south until all zones have been completed.
- Start Date: Monday, April 13, 2026
- Scheduled End Date:
- Duration:
- Goal: One-time Pass
- Tracking: Not Available
Placement of Leaves: To ensure leaves are collected, please make sure to rake leaves into a clearly visible pile following the guidelines below. Pickup DOES NOT coincide with your garbage or recycling collection day. Please see additional placement and compliance information by going to our Municipal Code page.
Collection Placement/Guidelines:- Do not park in front of the piles as this slows down collection time. If you see a truck working, wait until they are done or park behind them. It will take them a moment to clear the leaves and continue on.
- Place leaf piles within 3 feet of the curb line.
- Do not put leaf piles into the street, gutter, or over catch basins. It prevents clogging the storm drain. The Stormwater Coordinator will contact residents directly about this issue.
- Do not pile leaves around trees or poles.
- Leaves that are bagged, covered, or mixed with brush will not be collected.
Leaf Disposal Locations: These sites are only available during leaf season and will open for residents use by October 24, 2025. Myrick Park is no longer a leaf drop-off site. All sites, apart from Isle La Plume, are designated by orange snow fencing. Dumping at these sites without the orange fencing in place is not allowed and will be considered an illegal dump. Residents using these sites are required to remove and take all bags and containers with them; leaving them at the drop-off sites is not allowed. Additionally, brush and other yard waste material is not allowed at the drop-off sites and should be taken to the Isle La Plume, 2000 Marco Drive, with a seasonal permit sticker. Strikethrough formatting will be removed as sites open for the season and reapplied when they close.
